X’ene’s Witness is a contemporary opera conceived and directed by multidisciplinary artist Justen Leroy, and commissioned and presented by LAND (Los Angeles Nomadic Division).

Franc Fernadez was the creative director on this project and brought me on to develop the Production Design.

Franc and Justen had such an incredible vision for this deconstructed stage and it was such a privilege to help them bring this to life. They gave me so much space to explore materiality, stage design, and visual impact.

Working with Franc on several projects in 2023 was such an epic experience. His ability to always push beyond the realm of what is possible and to truly honor the values and aesthetics of the artists he works with has had a profound impact on my work.
